1. Will the foundation be damaged? Most work is done by breaking the floor open around the edge of the basement. since the floor is not a structural part of the foundation, there is no concern over damaging the foundation. Any wall work that is necessary is limited to the surface of the concrete, and poses no threat to the structural integrity of the foundation. 2. How can I pay for work done? On most jobs a small deposit is required. Half of remaining sum to be paid on commencement of work, and the final payment due on the day of completion. Payment may be made with cash, personal checks, major credit card, or with available financing. 3 How will crack be repaired? Most methods involve patching or filling the crack to block the water from coming through. These are temporary fixes that usually fail within the first year; sometimes immediately. Our method involves installing a drain in the wall to drain the water away. 4 Is there a warranty? Most work is warranted for the life of the structure, and is transferable to any new owners. Please call the office for details. 5. Is the estimate free? All estimates are free of charge, whether you use us to do the work, or not. Click here for a FREE ESTIMATE 6. Are you licensed and insured? We are fully licensed in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and we are fully insured. 7. How long have you been in business? We have been family owned and operated since 1983. 8. What if the basement is finished? Most work can be done with minimal disruption to your living space. 9. How long will it take? Most jobs can be done in three days or less. 10. Is the pump loud? We use Zoeller sump pumps, which have a tremendous reputation for quality and for being one of the quietest pumps on the market.
11. What will it look like? All areas of a french drain system will be covered with concrete and only a small grating will be visible at the wall. Our goal is to make every repair as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

12. How effective are sealants? In most situations, sealants are just band-aids, and will be unable to stop actual groundwater leaking into the basement. Most repairs require some type of drainage to be installed.

13. My basement is above the water table. Most basement water problems have nothing to do with the water table. The real problem occurs when the rain comes down harder then the drainage in the ground can absorb it. When this happens, water begins to collect around your basement and can begin leaking in through the walls or come up where the floor meets the wall and any floor cracks that you may have. So basements that are above the water table can have the same problems as basements that are below it, and would need to be repaired in the same way.
